Fleeing in a country

I wish that the conflict in Sudan

Would have been dissolved

That for once

The people of Darfur

Would be free

Of violence, genocide,

Mass rape, hunger

But the former Janjaweed (RSF)

And the army

Are still clashing to maximise

Their profit

In the process

Making millions suffer

For some reason

The largest humanitarian disaster

Is not on our radar

My Zaghawa friends

For near two generations

Not living in their home(land)

But in a temporary camp

In my time (2006) there

There were 26,000 people

I read there may be 100,000

In and near the camp

War nearby

Water access limited

Food a huge issue

Famine too common

Things do not seem to change

Wish the people

Peace and health
